This part is widely commented as the best in the series. Wong Fei Hung (Jet Li) again confronts new challenges. This time, Fei Hung, Aunt Thirteen (Rosamund Kwan) and Fei Hung's new student Leung Fu (Max Mok) travel to Canton to attend a medical conference. The story has a lot of good humors such as in the train when Fei Hung and Leung Fu learn how to use forks and knifes. What a fun! Anyway, arriving Canton, master Wong finds out that Canton is in such a mess. There is an occult clan called White Lotus Sect (with Hung Yan Yan as the head) who hate Western, a revolution secretly going on and a Chinese mandarin (Donnie Yen) with superb kung fu who uses the White Lotus as an excuse to seek the revolution members. In the conference, Wong Fei Hung even befriends the leader of the revolution, Dr Sun Yat Sen. Later in the story, master Wong manages to show his excellent acupuncture skill in front of the Westerns, helps the revolution, destroys the cult clan and defeat Donnie Yen's character in a wonderful fight scene. As mentioned in the OUATIC I, the relationship between Aunt thirteen and master Wong becomes better and better. In this part, she discloses her love to him (when they were trapped in a British consulate and she needs to run away first.) Wong Fei Hung even calls her by her name Siu Qun and gives his loveliest goodbye smile. Happily, the manage to escape safely. Comments: the best in the series. The characters' development is just right. The fighting scene is superb. There are everything, humors, romance, fighting, idealism, patriotism, conflicts and so on which makes it the best in all. Jet Li and Rosamund again are so cute together. Rating: 10/10 |
